This is what I know about this saw: it came from an elderly mans garage after he had passed. Otherwise it does run. I rolled up the saw into a big piece of cardboard and secured with much strapping tape. His son passed it to me.
Model # 172.171300. See all of my photos. Or the lock is set in a locked position, and he wan't able to move it un receive blade. It works-runs, but my builder / electrician man friend was not able to set the blade in place.
Needs repair or tinkering with as far getting it to receive a blade. Motor seems fine. Its very heavy. No guarantees.
We plugged it in. Its been man tested. I wan't able to locate a decent box for it. Vintage Craftsman Saws All/ Reciprocating Saw.
And placed inside of a poly mailer. I'm calling this a Non working saw. It would not lock.
